Tensile and compressive testing can be performed using a computerised INSTRON 4206 Series IX, programmable to a wide range of requirements and for which 5kN, 30kN and 150kN load cells are available. For non-metallic materials an extensive range of strength, shear, tear, flexural and compression methods are routinely employed.

Infra Red analysis of rubber, plastic, oil, grease, and brake fluid can be carried out with library and search facility.

Simultaneous Thermal analysis allows differential thermal analysis and thermo gravimetric analysis from ambient to 1000ºC. This can quantify such parameters as process oil, polymer, carbon black and filler content of rubber, polymer and filler content and melting point of plastics and oil and filler content of greases.

Hardness testing of Metal, rubber and plastics can also be carried out on a wide range of equipment.

As would be expected of a leading hydraulic brake manufacturer, our understanding of hydraulic brake fluid is exceptional. The laboratory can offer investigative analysis testing to ISO, BS and DOT requirements employing a variety of procedures including:

• Kinematic Viscosity with temperature ranges from –40ºC to +100ºC
• Boiling Point to BSAU174 Part2
• Water Determination using a microprocessor controlled METTLER TOLEDO DL38 Karl Fischer titrator
