TS16949
The goal of ISO/TS 16949 is the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. There are about 130 additional requirements in TS 16949 compared to ISO9001. Many of the additions clarify rather than impose additional requirements. In order to supply to IATF companies (BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford Motor Company, General Motors but to name a few) a company must subscribe to TS16949
ISO14001
ISO 14001 is an international environmental management system (EMS) standard.
Environmental management systems (EMS) seek to integrate environmental responsibility into every day management practice within all types of organisation.
They may be described as ‘The organisational structure, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes and resources for implementing and maintaining environmental management’. An EMS is a way of recognising and assessing the impacts which an organisation has on the environment, and planning their efforts to reduce those impacts. ISO 14001 is a process standard and not a performance standard.
Caparo AP Braking have a fully certified EMS that has been assessed by external auditing body LRQA as meeting the requirements of ISO 14001. The system is subject to regular internal and external audits to ensure that it is appropriate and is meeting the needs of the Company.
