Modern techniques such as Lean Manufacturing are used towards the ongoing development of the business together with Continuous Improvement to maintain the competitive edge. The concentration is on tight coordination of the supply chain, both for internally machined and externally bought components to ensure best use of working capital and minimising non value added activities.
Brake Caliper manufacturing capabilities:
Calipers are machined on medium volume flexible machining centres, providing the benefits expected in terms of flexibility, quality, dependability and cost. Assembly is carried out in a clean room facility.

Brake Hose manufacturing capabilities:
The business employs combinations of both semi-automated medium volume hose assembly techniques as well as manual operations for more complex and/or low volume, specialist vehicle applications, as appropriate. In-house turning and sub-assembly equipment allows production flexibility as well as improving new product introduction lead times. 100% testing is standard procedure and is carried out in a clean room facility.

Caparo AP Braking has extensive manufacturing experience in all automotive hydraulic braking systems. In particular it has the capability to maintain the tight tolerances and finishes critical to success in this area.
The business produces low volumes of a high variety of products. This is achieved with the utilization of modern flexible manufacturing facilities, which include Mazak FMS and Traub CNC turning centres which are ideally suited to the variety and batch sizes.
